NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD’s Animal Cruelty Investigation Squad is investigating after 14 dead cats were discovered in an empty lot in Queens on Tuesday.
The cats were found strewn about trees and bushes behind a chain-link fence on a lot near 102nd Street and 115th Avenue in Howard Beach, according to officials.
The cats were different ages and breeds. They were also in different states of decomposition, implying they weren’t all killed at once.
The ASPCA is also investigating the incident and plans to determine the cats’ causes of death.
