HARTFORD, Conn. (WCBS 880) — Connecticut is teaming up with restaurants across the state to give people another incentive to get vaccinated.
Gov. Ned Lamont announced Tuesday that participating restaurants will offer one free alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage to customers who show their COVID-19 vaccination card.

The governor said two-thirds adults in Connecticut have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
“Still, we have some of the younger folks who haven’t quite gotten vaccinated yet, and we want to do everything we can to encourage you to get vaccinated,” Lamont said. “And also, let’s have a little fun. Come in here, show that you’ve been vaccinated, you get a free drink.”
The free drink program will run from May 19 to May 31. Purchase of food will be required.
"Let's cut to the chase — this is the place to be and drinks are on us," Lamont said.
