"I am not going to be running for Governor of New York State, but I am going to devote every fiber of my being to fighting inequality in the state of New York," he wrote on Twitter.
De Blasio had previously teased a bid for the race for governor and filed paperwork with the New York State Board of Elections to request the creation of the "New Yorkers for a Fair Future" committee last November.
