NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 7-year-old girl was wounded by a stray bullet in a daytime shooting on a Coney Island street Monday, police said.

The girl was with her 28-year-old mother outside a deli at W. 30th Street and Surf Avenue when gunfire rang out around 3 p.m.
The girl and mom fled to their apartment, and about two hours later the mom noticed her daughter had a graze wound to her stomach, according to police.
The girl was transported to NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn. She was in stable condition and is expected to be okay.
Police don’t believe the girl or her mother were the intended target.
No arrests had been reported as of Tuesday.
The shooting followed a violent weekend in the city in which nearly 30 people were shot.
And on Monday, another child was injured in an assault near Central Park. Police said the 9-year-old girl was punched in the face by a man who was later arrested.
