Suspect who lit book, cloth on fire and threw it at Gramercy synagogue sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A suspect is wanted by police for an alleged arson on a Manhattan synagogue in an incident that is being investigated as a hate crime.

Around 1:25 a.m. on May 19, the suspect lit a book and piece of cloth on fire and threw it through the gate of Brotherhood Synagogue at 28 Gramercy Park South, authorities said.

The suspect then fled the scene.

Police said no injuries were reported as a result and no damage occurred as a result of the arson.
