Homeless man with 60 prior arrests attacks boy, 6, with laptop in Manhattan

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A homeless man with dozens of prior arrests struck a 6-year-old boy in the head with a laptop in a random Harlem attack, police said.

The boy and his parents were at W. 114th Street and Manhattan Avenue, near Morningside Park, around 2:30 p.m. Sunday when the man came up and hit the boy with the laptop, according to police.

The boy was transported to Mount Sinai Morningside for an evaluation.

Police arrested a suspect, 60-year-old Michael Johnson, in the attack. He was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Johnson has 60 prior arrests, including for assault, robbery, burglary and larceny, sources told the New York Post.
