NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Police are looking to identify a man wanted for throwing coffee on a Brooklyn 7-Eleven employee's face during a robbery that occurred last month, authorities said.
The incident happened on Friday, February 18, at approximately noon inside of a 7-Eleven located at 708 Brighton Beach Avenue in Brighton Beach, the NYPD said.
Officials said the suspect opened a bag of donuts, ate one of them, then served himself coffee before he tried to leave the store without paying for the items.
When a 46-year-old employee prevented the individual from exiting the store, the suspect threw the hot coffee in the victim's face and knocked him down to the floor.
The suspect fled the scene on foot westbound on Brighton Beach Avenue.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
Police described the suspect as a dark-skinned male, 30 to 35 years old, 5'7", 130 to 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket, a white hooded sweater, blue jeans, and dark-colored sneakers.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
