The victim was slashed in the arm by a man wielding a sharp object at Elmhurst Avenue and Broadway in Elmhurst around 7 p.m.

He ran into the nearby Elmhurst Avenue subway station for help, where witnesses described a bloody scene.

EMS transported the victim to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was in stable condition.

It’s unclear if the victim and his attacker interacted at all before the slashing.

No arrests have been reported.

It comes after a rash of attacks in the subway over the holiday weekend, when there were more than a half-dozen assaults, including multiple stabbings and a beating with a metal pipe.

It also happened as Mayor Eric Adams’ new subway safety plan took effect Monday. Police, clinicians and outreach workers are teaming up to help the homeless and crack down on fare-beaters and others breaking subway rules.
