NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police on Tuesday announced they arrested a man accused of trying to lure a 12-year-old girl walking home from school in Brooklyn into his car.
The incident happened at about 2:25 p.m. on Monday near the intersection of Essex Street and Dumont Avenue in East New York, authorities said.

According to officials, 36-year-old old Verlon Thomas was sitting in his vehicle when he offered the girl a free ride home, then proceeded to pleasure himself in front of her and ordered her to "get into my car."
The victim ran off and called 911 who then showed up to the location.
Officials used surveillance cameras and license plate readers to track down Thomas' car.
