
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A 44-year-old man died Saturday afternoon after being shot in the back five times on a Bronx street corner, police said.

The victim, Angel Ortega, was on the corner of East Tremont and Belmont Avenue when he was fatally shot around 3:15 p.m., officials said.
Responding officers found Ortega wounded in the street. He was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
No arrests had been made as of Saturday night and the investigation remains ongoing.
