Man fatally shot in chest at Upper Manhattan intersection; gun recovered by police

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The NYPD is investigating the shooting death of a man on an Upper Manhattan intersection early Friday, authorities said.

Just before 2 a.m. on November 26, police responded to a 911 call of a man shot at the intersection of West 177th Street and Wadsworth Avenue in Washington Heights, officials said.

Upon arrival, officers observed an unresponsive unidentified man with a gunshot wound to the chest.

EMS transported the victim to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police recovered a firearm on scene.

No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
