NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Brooklyn father was fatally shot in the head outside his home early Wednesday, reportedly as he returned from his job at JFK Airport, police and neighbors said.

Officers responding to a 911 call just after 12:45 a.m. found 36-year-old Modassar Khandaker unconscious on a sidewalk outside his home on Forbell Street, near Glenmore Avenue, in Cypress Hills.
Khandaker had a gunshot wound to his head and was unresponsive, police said. Citizen App video shows officers at the scene.
EMS rushed Khandaker to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center but he did not survive.
A neighbor, who gave his name as Mohammed, said Khandaker worked at JFK Airport and leaves behind a wife and young son.

Mohammed said Khandaker was a “very nice guy” and not the sort of person who'd cause trouble. He can see no reason why he would've been targeted and is now fearing for his own safety.
“I feel nervous, I feel scared,” Mohammed said. “This happened right next to my house.”
Khandaker was reportedly returning home from his job at the airport when he was shot.
Police haven't released a possible motive as an investigation continues. No arrests have been made.
