Man found fatally stabbed after dispute inside Bronx subway station: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a man was fatally stabbed during a dispute inside a Bronx subway station early Monday, authorities said.

Officials responded to a 911 call of a man stabbed at the 241st Street and White Plains Road subway station in the Wakefield neighborhood at around 12:40 a.m.

Upon arrival at the mezzanine on the 2 train, officers observed an unidentified man with a stab wound to the torso.

EMS transported the victim to Montefiore Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation determined that the victim was stabbed by an unknown suspect following a verbal dispute at the location, police said.

The suspect then fled the station in an unknown direction.

There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
