Man hit in the head while riding the R train, two sought

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A man was hit in the head while riding the R train in Queens on Thursday in a seemingly random attack, police said.

The 35-year-old victim was approached by two unidentified males around 9 p.m. while inside of a train car. The attackers hit him in the head with an unknown object which caused a laceration and bleeding, authorities said. The two suspects then fled the train car.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

Prior to the incident, police said the victim had no interaction with the attackers.

Surveillance footage captured images of the suspects who are described as being between 20-30 years old.
