Man arrested after victim was punched, pushed onto tracks in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Bronx man is under arrest after another man was punched in the face and pushed onto subway tracks in an unprovoked attack at a Brooklyn subway station, police said.

David Rivera, 32, was arrested Thursday and charged with assault, menacing, criminal trespass and harassment.

The 22-year-old victim was on a platform at the Atlantic Avenue–Barclays Center station just before 9 a.m. Monday when Rivera allegedly came up and punched him in the face, according to police.

The assailant then pushed him onto the track roadbed, according to police.

The victim suffered a fractured left arm and wrist, lacerations to his left knee, and bruising to his right knee.

He was transported by EMS to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in stable condition.
