NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 24-year-old man was shot and critically wounded as he sat in a car in Brooklyn Wednesday night, police said.

The victim was sitting in a Honda Civic near Junius Street and Liberty Avenue in Brownsville around 8:40 p.m. when a gunman approached and shot him in the chest.

The shooter, who was wearing all black, then fled southbound on Junius Street, police said.

The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Citizen App video shows police investigating near the car with an ambulance parked nearby.

A motive isn't yet known amid an ongoing investigation, police said.
