
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a man was shot in the chest on the Lower East Side on Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.

Officials said the 28-year-old victim was in his vehicle was heading north on the FDR highway near exit 8 around 1:30 p.m. when the gunfire happened.
The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
The shooting may be linked to a possible road rage incident, according to a report from the New York Post.
No further information was immediately available and an investigation is ongoing.
