
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – A 70-year-old woman was struck in the head in an unprovoked attack in Manhattan on Friday morning, police said.
The NYPD released images of a suspect Saturday as they continued to search for him.
The victim was on E. 14th Street, near Second Avenue, in the East Village around 10:40 a.m. when a man came up and struck her in the head with an object, police said.

The woman fell to the ground and her attacker fled.
Police said EMS took the woman to an area hospital, where she was in stable condition with an abrasion to her wrist and elbow.
