NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A 36-year-old man was killed in a stabbing aboard a subway train in Williamsburg on Tuesday night, police said.

NYPD officers responding to a 911 call just after 8 p.m. found the victim with a stab wound to his chest on a northbound J train stopped just west of the Marcy Avenue station.

EMS rushed him to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He has not yet been identified.

The circumstances surrounding the stabbing weren't immediately clear, but police said two people of interest were taken into custody a short time later.

Charges against the pair were pending Wednesday as an investigation continued.
