Man threatens to shoot postal worker, steals pile of mail in the Bronx: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man threatened to shoot a U.S. postal worker and then stole mail from him in the Bronx this week, police said.

The 43-year-old postman was delivering mail on the Grand Concourse, near E. Burnside Avenue, in Mount Hope around 11:45 a.m. Monday when he was approached by the man.

The man threatened to shoot the mailman and then snatched packages he was carrying, police said.

Surveillance video from the NYPD appears to show the suspect walking away with a large pile of mail.

The postman was not injured, police said.
