NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — The Mermaid Parade is returning to Coney Island this year, organizers said Thursday.
The 39th annual art parade, which celebrates “ancient mythology and honky-tonk rituals of the seaside,” will be held on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m., the event's website says.
The parade will kick off at West 21st Street and Surf Avenue before heading down West 10th Street to the Coney Island boardwalk.
Last year’s parade was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
