Upon arrival, officers observed motorcyclist Alex Rivera lying on the roadway with trauma to his head.

EMS rushed Rivera to Mount Sinai-Saint Luke's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Saturday, November 6.

Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad determined Rivera was operating a 2013 Honda motorcycle traveling eastbound on East 100th Street without wearing a helmet and failed to properly navigate the roadway.

Authorities said the motorcyclist lost control of the motorcycle, became ejected, and the motorcycle fell on its side and slid along the roadway, before coming to a rest.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
