BUSTED WITH BLOW-UP DOLL: MTA manager caught driving with dummy – for HOV lane?

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An MTA manager is under investigation after he was seen pulling into his Brooklyn office building on Wednesday, with a blow-up doll, according to a report from the New York Post.

Giulio Divirgilio, a general superintendent at the MTA Buses department, was captured driving into the East New York building with the blown-up dummy seated in the front passenger seat of his Kia Telluride.

“It was weird when we saw that thing [in his car] in the morning. Why would anyone have that there except to do HOV stuff?” said one Buses employee who requested anonymity.

According to the Post, Divirgiliio denies any claims that he uses the inflatable doll to illegally ride in the HOV lane.

“I don’t use it for the HOV,” he said. “I use it for the company.”

One union official said, “It’s unbecoming of a manager. We laugh, but what else is he doing in secret that we don’t know about?”

The MTA is looking into the incident.
