
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (1010 WINS) -- New Haven City Hall was evacuated Wednesday afternoon due to a bomb threat.

Police closed Church Street outside of City Hall while emergency personnel secured the area. Officials declared the area safe around 6:30 p.m.
Mayor Justin Elicker told the New Haven Register that police brought a K-9 unit to sweep the building.
200 Orange Street, a building behind City Hall that houses some municipal offices, was also evacuated due to the threat.
The threat was made over the phone at around 4:20 p.m., WTNH News reported.
