NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An Elizabeth man on Wednesday admitted to committing 13 armed robberies in New York and New Jersey, according to the Department of Justice.
Between August 2018 and February 2019, 45-year-old Jamie Fontanez and multiple other co-conspirators stuck up liquor and convenience stores.

In one instance, one of the perpetrators fired a gun in a store they were robbing.
The group targeted stores in the Bronx and Manhattan, as well as Union, Middlesex and Essex counties in New Jersey.
Fontanez pleaded guilty to robbery and weapons charges.
He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison when he’s sentenced on April 26.
