NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A New Jersey woman died at a hospital after she lost control of a tricycle in Midtown and struck a dumpster last week, police said Thursday.
The 23-year-old victim was riding the three-wheeled bike at West 36th Street and Ninth Avenue shortly before midnight on July 20 when she somehow lost control, according to police.
The tricycle then collided with a dumpster along the curb line of the street.
The woman suffered internal injuries in the crash and was taken by private means to Mount Sinai West, where she was listed in critical but stable condition.
She ultimately died from her injuries the following day. Police identified her as Dilshoda Abdusamatov, of Monmouth County.
The NYPD is investigating the cause of the crash. No other vehicles were involved, police said.
