NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An NYPD officer was clipped by a fleeing SUV driver in Brooklyn early Monday morning, police said.

The officer was struck in the hand as a person fled in the vehicle around midnight in Williamsburg.

The cop suffered minor hand injuries and was taken to Bellevue Hospital.

The suspect fled the scene in the SUV and remained at large Monday, police said.

It wasn't immediately clear why police were attempting to stop the SUV.

Police haven't released a description of the SUV or the suspect.
