Authorities responded to a 911 call in connection to a struck pedestrian at Bath Avenue and Bay Parkway in Bath Beach at around 4:20 p.m. on Aug. 26, police said.

The victim fled the scene before first responders arrived and authorities failed to locate him.

A preliminary investigation determined a 2021 Toyota Highlander was traveling on Bath Avenue and attempted to make a right turn on Bay Parkway when it struck the unnamed male pedestrian, according to authorities.

Police responded to a 911 call of an unconscious man in an apartment at 180 Bay 31 Street on Aug. 27 at 8:00 a.m, the NYPD said. Police said they found a man with head injuries, lying on the floor, unconscious and unresponsive.

EMS later responded and pronounced the victim deceased.

Authorities said a preliminary investigation determined he was the same man from the crash the day before.

Police said it is withholding the name of the victim pending family notification.
