Police search for thief who punched woman, 67, down stairs at Manhattan subway station

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a purse thief who punched a 67-year-old woman in the head, causing her to fall down the stairs of a Manhattan subway station.

The unidentified man attacked the woman at the 42 Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal subway Station in Midtown just before 7 a.m. on April 5.

After the attack caused her to fall down the stairs, the man grabbed her purse and ran with $150 and her credit cards.

The victim had minor injuries, and EMS treated her at the station. She did not need to go to a hospital.
