NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A subway rider suffered a puncture wound to her chest after she was attacked with a purse on a train in Downtown Brooklyn last week, police said Tuesday.

The NYPD released video showing the female suspect they're searching for in last Thursday's random assault at the Jay Street–MetroTech station.

The 30-year-old victim was on a train when another woman came up and struck her with the purse, police said.

Part of the purse somehow punctured the victim's chest, according to police.

The attacker fled the train and out of the Jay Street station after the assault.

EMS transported the victim to NYU Langone Health—Cobble Hill, where she was treated for minor injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
