NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – A 13-year-old boy was shot and killed in the Bronx on Sunday afternoon, police said.
Jaryan Elliot was shot on E. 187th Street, near Prospect Avenue, in the Belmont section around 3:15 p.m.
Elliot was with another male outside Angels Cafe when a gunman got out of a black vehicle and opened fire, striking him in the torso, WABC reported.
The teen was shot in the chest and leg. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Chief of Department Rodney Harrison said the shooting was gang-related and that Elliot was the intended target.
No arrests have been reported.
Elliot was one of three teens killed in the city over the weekend.
Ramon Gil-Medrano, 16, was also shot in the head and chest Sunday night around 10:30 p.m. at East 178 Street and Valentine Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The shooting came hours after a 19-year-old man was fatally shot in Queens early Sunday morning.
