VIDEO: Shoplifter with over 70 slippers pushes worker to ground outside Brooklyn store

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is searching for a man who pushed a worker to the ground while attempting to steal nearly 40 pairs of slippers from a 99 cent store in Brooklyn.

It happened just before 2 p.m. on Friday, June 10 in front of the J + L 99 Cent store located on Stillwell Avenue in Coney Island.

According to officials, the suspect picked up a box containing 36 pairs of slippers and began to walk away without paying for them when a 32-year-old female employee went to stop him.

The suspect then forcibly pushed the worker to the ground and threw the box of merchandise at her.

He was unsuccessful in taking any property and fled on foot heading southbound on Stillwell Avenue.

The employee sustained a minor injury to her left elbow but refused medical attention at the scene.

Police describe the suspect as a man with a dark complexion, large build, black hair, facial hair. He was last seen wearing a blue baseball hat with "New York" written on the front, a black long-sleeve shirt with the "Champion" logo on the front, gray pants and black sneakers.
