NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A subway rider was stomped on and had a gun put to his head after he declined to give a man money at a Bronx subway station, police said Thursday.

The 27-year-old victim was at the Morrison Avenue–Soundview station on the 6 line around 3:45 a.m. Sunday when his attacker came up and asked for money.

The victim said he didn’t have any cash to give and walked away, but the man followed him onto the southbound 6 train platform.

He then threw the victim onto the floor of the platform and repeatedly kicked and punched him in the face and body, police said.

A second man then came up, put a gun to the victim’s head and stole his wallet from his pants pocket.

The two robbers fled the station with the wallet. The NYPD released an image Thursday of one of them.

The severity of the victim’s injuries wasn’t immediately known.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
