The 32-year-old was “surfing” on top of a car on a Brooklyn-bound J train heading out of the Delancey Street/Essex Street station around 4:30 a.m. As the car headed over the Williamsburg Bridge, the man fell off and was run over by the train, horrified witnesses told police.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and no criminality was suspected, police said.
Subway service was temporarily suspended along the J line between the Essex St and Marcy Av station as emergency responders arrived at the scene, the MTA tweeted.
