Police said Timothy Thomas, of Queens, was arrested on Thursday afternoon and charged with attempted rape, sex abuse, forcible touching, unlawful imprisonment and sexual abuse.

Thomas allegedly approached the 21-year-old woman inside of an “E” train as it approached the Canal Street station heading north, authorities said.

He allegedly pushed the victim into a corner of the train and attempted to rape her.

He then fled the train at the Canal Street station toward another train at the stop, police said.

The victim was evaluated at the scene.
