The suspect handed a teller a note at the TD Bank on East 57th Street and Third Avenue around 1:30 p.m, police said.
Cops said the teller handed the man roughly $500 dollars before he fled the scene on foot.
Police were not immediately aware about what the note said.
The robber was described as a man wearing a black hoodie, gray pants and a blue hat, officials said.
