NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An Uber driver was stabbed during an attempted robbery in Manhattan on Thursday evening, police said.

The 40-year-old driver was trying to make a delivery near Sixth Avenue and W. 25th Street in Chelsea just after 7 p.m. when a man came up and attempted to rob him, according to police.
The man stabbed the driver in the stomach during the robbery before fleeing the scene, police said.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is expected to survive.
Police were not able to confirm an arrest in the attack, but the New York Post reported that a 53-year-old man was apprehended by police at a nearby homeless shelter. Charges against him were pending, according to the report.
