NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A candy thief shot into a 7-Eleven in Tribeca on Sunday after employees caught him stealing sweets, police said.

The NYPD released surveillance video Monday of the sugar fiend shooting into the store at 110 Church St. just before 5 a.m. Sunday.

Video shows the hooded shoplifter sticking some of the stolen merch into his book bag before employees caught him and kicked him out.

He then went outside, pulled a handgun and shot through the storefront window, police said.

The confectionery crook was last seen fleeing on foot into the World Trade Center PATH train station.

No injuries were reported.
