Lamont specifically aimed his comments at Texas following the passage of SB8, which prohibits abortions once medical professionals can detect cardiac activity.

The governor touted Connecticut’s accomplishments while stating his case for his state as a better place to work and live.

“We have more women participating in our workforce than just about anywhere else. And that’s because we’re a family-friendly state that respects women,” the governor said in a YouTube video.

Lamont also denoted that Connecticut has codified a woman’s right to choose. He joined fellow area Govs. Phil Murphy, Kathy Hochul and New York City mayoral candidate Eric Adams in vocally opposing the law.

“We don’t have oil and natural gas, but we have one of most productive, best trained, most innovative workforces in the world,” said Lamont.

Lamont also pointed to the state’s child care program, medical leave and low school infection rates in making the state a “great place to be” for women and their families.

“If you business owners are looking to make a move, give me a call,” Lamont said in closing.
