NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a group of women who they say pepper-sprayed and robbed a for-hire driver in the Bronx.

The NYPD released video Wednesday showing the suspects in the July 8 mid-ride confrontation near Melrose Avenue and E. 158th Street in the Melrose section.
The 23-year-old driver told the four women that there were too many people in his vehicle and that they had to take another car.
Chaotic video shows the women repeatedly screaming at the driver to “stop the car” as he continues to accelerate through the streets while apparently honking the horn.
He eventually stops the vehicle and one of them pepper-sprays him in the face, video shows.
Police said the women also punched him and robbed him of his cellphone before leaving the car.
