NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Sunday that President Joe Biden backs an “independent review” of sexual harassment allegations against Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
“There should be an independent review looking into these allegations. And that’s certainly something he supports and we believe should move forward as quickly as possible,” Psaki said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
“They’re serious,” Psaki said of the allegations. “It was hard to read that story as a woman. And that process should move forward as quickly as possible, and that’s something we all support and the president supports,” Psaki said.
Psaki said Biden “has been consistent that he believes that every woman should be heard, should be treated with respect and with dignity.”
Cuomo faces an independent probe into sexual harassment allegations made by Charlotte Bennett, the second former aide to accuse him of sexual harassment.
