
NEW YORK – A livery cab driver struck a 90-year-old woman as she crossed an Upper West Side street on Tuesday night, sending the victim to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
The woman was hit by a black Infiniti shortly after 8 p.m. as she was in a crosswalk at Amsterdam Avenue and W. 74th Street, according to police.
The woman was transported to Mount Sinai Morningside, where she was in critical condition, police said.
The 44-year-old driver stayed at the scene, according to police. He was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian.
