NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Bronx woman was charged for allegedly killing her boyfriend inside their Mott Haven apartment on Thursday.

Police said the 24-year-old man was found unconscious and unresponsive, lying face down with apparent bruises on a bed inside their 616 East 139th St. apartment around 8:15 p.m. Thursday.

EMS responded to the apartment, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released at this time.

The victim's girlfriend, Tonichelle Harvey, 30, was inside the apartment when cops arrived.

Harvey told officers that she and her boyfriend choked each other during a fight, police told the Daily News. Sources told the outlet that police responded to a number of fights between the couple in recent months.

The 30-year-old is charged with murder and manslaughter.
