NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – A woman was struck and killed by a yellow cab near Times Square early Saturday morning, police said.
The 57-year-old woman was crossing W. 46th Street, near Eighth Avenue, outside of the crosswalk when a yellow cab traveling down the street struck her at 4 a.m., police said.
Officers responding to a 911 call found the woman lying on the roadway with trauma to her body.
She was rushed to Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. She has not been identified.
Police said the cab’s 56-year-old driver remained at the scene and was not injured. He had not been arrested as of Saturday evening.
