NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A puppy named BeBe who got away from its owner went for a swim in the East River on Saturday and had to be rescued by the NYPD Special Ops team.

The adorable pup swam more than 200 yards in the freezing river before being brought back to land by authorities.

The Special Ops team tweeted about the incident saying the officers threw on rescue gear and swam to the frightened dog where they were able to safely the pup to its owner.
