The 21-year-old woman was driving a Ford sedan northbound on Cedar Swamp Road in Brookville just after midnight when she lost control of the vehicle, which flipped over and crashed into the pole, sending wires onto the road, according to police.

Minutes later, a 33-year-old man driving a Honda motorcycle northbound on the road became entangled in the downed wires and fell off his bike to the ground, police said. It's unclear if any of the wires were electrified.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by a police medic. He has not been identified.

When responding officers encountered the woman, she had “slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and an odor of alcohol” on her breath, police said.

The unidentified woman was arrested without incident and taken to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries.

She faces charges of DWI and vehicular manslaughter, police said amid an ongoing investigation.
