NJ volunteer fire chief arrested for attempting to meet child for sex

NUTLEY, N.J. (1010 WINS) — The Nutley volunteer fire chief was arrested on Friday for attempting to lure a child he intended to sexually abuse, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

The North Bergen Police Department, the HCPO’s Special Victims Unit and the Nutley Police Department arrested Henry Meola, 33, at his home.

Authorities accused Meola of arranging to meet a minor for sex.

Prosecutors charged him with luring and attempted endangering the welfare of a child.

Meola is being held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
