SHOREHAM, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Shoreham-Wading River High School in Shoreham announced the discovery of three swastikas on desks Thursday.
The Nazi symbols are the second “hate speech” incident in the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District in the past month, according to Superintendent Gerard Poole.
In a letter to parents, Poole referenced a non-descript “hate speech” incident that took place at Albert G. Prodell Middle School in Shoreham late last month.
The superintendent told parents the district is cooperating with the Suffolk County Police Department to investigate the incidents.
“The individual(s) responsible for defacing school property with such a hateful image will be held accountable and will be disciplined in accordance with the district's code of conduct,” wrote Poole in a letter to parents Thursday.
