SYRACUSE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- A woman and her adult son who both were said to have COVID-19 died within minutes of each other earlier this week in an upstate hospital.

Jacqueline Alpeter, 64, and James Alpeter III, 30, of Syracuse, both died Tuesday while being treated at a hospital, according to their obituary.
“Both left on Tuesday, December 14 from Crouse Hospital to dine and live forever with their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in a far green country,” the obituary said.
Family and friends said on Facebook that both had died from COVID-19, according to Syracuse.com.
“So saddened by the sudden passing of Jackie Alpeter and son Jimmy within minutes of each other,” said James Roger Farley on Facebook, who said he was the family’s pastor for decades.
The Alpeter family wouldn’t discuss the deaths with the outlet, only to say they died after a “brief illness.”
According to Syracuse.com, Jacqueline posted to Facebook in June, “I’m not having the vaccine. My body, My choice.” and posted before that, “I trust my immune system not an experimental vaccine. My DNA, My Choice.”
The outlet said the 64-year-old was a Syracuse University employee for over two decades.
