A 61-year-old resident needed the department’s help with removing an unwanted guest from her bedroom—a bat.

A responding patrol sergeant, who also happens to be an avid hunter and outdoorsman, can be seen in a Facebook video posted of the incident approaching the bat—perched on the wall—with a basket to trap it.

The officer successfully pinned the bat in the basket against the wall and pulled a blanket to secure it inside. He also kept his partners in the loop over the radio.

“All set, one in custody,” the sergeant joked, according to the Facebook post. “10-4, one bat in custody…good job Batman,” dispatch replied.

Both the bat, and the officer, made it out alive and safe.
